The most characteristic monuments of Iznájar are the Castle and the Lake. The castle is on the top of the town, it is next to the church Santiago Apostol. It is a monument from the eighteenth century, it has an Arabic origin and its ancient name was Hisn Ashar.
You can visit the castle from where you can see all the town and the lake because it is like a viewpoint. The castle has got a lot of rooms such as the parade ground in which sometimes you can enjoy different concerts from the music band among others.

The lake has wonderful views when the castle is reflected on it. In the summer you can practice with your canoe. An interesting detail about this lake is that it is the biggest of Andalusia.
You should visit Iznájar it isn’t so big, but it is very homely.
